Hari Om. Pranam to all.

Thank you Ganeshaji and Muruganji for your wishes on Janamashtami!

As we always pray, May He help us in our studies!

Gist of Verses 40 to 42 is we should have faith and not doubt the knowledge. Doubt spoils everything and if we have doubts, we should try and remove them through scriptures, by asking Guru etc. But if we doubt the knowledge or our Guru, then everything gets ruined. The basic faith has to be there. When all the doubts are removed, and when there is proper detachment, and when one is performing his duties with due detachment, the true knowledge will dawn upon him.

Hari OM

Divine qualities such as self-confidence and noble efforts are all born of sraddha; but doubt is the very negation of these great qualities. The doubting man does not trust anybody in this world. Through disbelief he alienates himself from others and feels miserable. He neither enjoys this world nor is he fit for the next.

A yogi is one who is not tainted by karma though he is ever occupied with it. Nature is infallible and has a plan and purpose in its functioning. It trains and disciplines the Jivatma stage by stage to perfection. One who understands this does not fall prey to doubt, but applies himself with all earnestness to self fulfillment.

The enlightened man, ever established in the Self, neither shuns work not is entangled in it. In freedom he works. The dawn of knowledge drives away the doubt. Knowing and doing go hand in hand and such a person is at his best always.

The ignorant one who has no faith and who has a doubting mind perishes. For one who has a doubting mind , neither this world is attanable nor the next nor the happiness. Therefore while pursuing spiritual sadhanas as prescribed in the scriptures and Guru, faith is important prerequisite.
Actions do not bind one who has renounced all actions through knowledge, who has destroyed all doubts by knowledge and who is mindful. Therefore, with the sword of knowledge one has to destroy the doubts in the mind born out of ignorance and take to karmayoga.

Hari Om! Pranams!

After such excellent reflections, I feel that all that I wanted to convey have been conveyed by our beloved sadhakas. I have nothing else to add. However, I will try to summarise the entire chapter in my next mail.

Pranams!

Ganesh
