I am posting two easy exercises with meanings to be completed by the participants.
Exercises will be posted once a week, i.e. Mondays and corrected on Satudays.
Correct answers will be given only for wrong answers.
१.भाषाभ्यासः
Read the following sentences and their meanings.
बालः पठति । शिष्यः नमति । जनकः पशयति । अग्रजः वदति । A boy reads. A pupil salutes. Father looks on. The elder brother speaks.
I. Translate into English:
१. वृक्षाः पतन्ति । २. जनकः वदति । ३. बालौ नमतः । ४. मृगाः धावन्ति ।
५.युवाम् वदथः । ६. अहं लिखामि । ७. त्वं सहसे । ८. वयं पठामः ।
९. जनाः यतन्ते । १०. वृद्धाः वेपन्ते । ११. पिता मोदते । १२. सूर्यः शोभते ।
(जनकः,पिता = Father; वृद्धः = old man; वृक्षः = Tree; मृगः = Deer; वदति = says; मोदते = delights;
यतते = tries; शोभते = shines; वेपते = shivers ; सहते = bears; )
II. Translate into Sanskrit:-
1. We play 2. Two boys delight 3. The cooks cook 4. We talk 5. The Brahmins perform ‘yajna’.
6. I sow 7. You two bear 8. They eat 9. The trees shake 10. I bow 11. Two beggars beg 12. Two pupils greet. (सूदाः = cooks; द्विजः = Brahmins; याचकौ =two beggars; छात्र, शिष्यः = pupil )

Acharya ji. I have made 5 guesses. I need to understand the verb forms even if my answers were correct.

All your answers to the two exercises are correct.
All the five guesses of the meanings of Verbs are also correct.
The verbs are in Atmanepada, which is not dealt in your syllables, so any detail might confuse you.
In future only Parasmaipada will be given.
